REGINALD LEGARE March 7, 1929 - February 7, 2006 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Reginald passed away at the age of 76 at the Grace Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Paule; and sons, Jean of Toronto, Jacques of Winnipeg; and grandsons, Phillip and William of Aylmer, QC. He will also be missed by other family members and friends. Reginald joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1948 in Chilliwack, BC as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers. He had many postings throughout Canada. Following engineer officer training in 1970, he received his commission from the ranks while serving in Masset, Queen Charlotte Islands, BC. He served as Production Officer at CFB Montreal and Construction Engineering Officer at CFS Lowther in Kapuskasing, ON. In 1975, he was appointed Staff Officer-Works at Air Command Headquarters Winnipeg. During his tenure with the armed forces, he provided engineering assistance following earthquakes in British West Indies and during the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. He was Technical Services Officer for Canadian peacekeeping contingent in Ismailia, Egypt 1978-79. Following his retirement from the military he started working for Transport Canada as Supervisor of Building Mechanical Maintenance for the Central Region and was responsible for 41 airports. In 1989, he was appointed as Supervisor of Building Operations for the Interlake School Division #21 until his final retirement. To honour and respect Reginald's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 13 at 1:30 p.m. with Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H.,V.F. presiding at Assumption Cemetery (Queen of Heaven Mausoleum), 3990 Portage Ave. A special thank you to homecare nurses Chris and Mariette, the devoted staff of Grace Hospice and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
